Release of Tirupavai discourse CD by Sri U.Ve. PBA Swami
Ubayavedantha Mahavidwan Sri Kanchi Prativadi Bhayankaram Annangrachariar Swami was a living legend in his days and is still a living memory. His contribution to the growth and spread of Emperumanar Darisanam is beyond words. His books are innumerable, and a great treasure to prosterity. He delivered countless upanyasams in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Sanskrit. His inimitable ringing voice and his lucid presentation captured the imagination of his audience in a big way all over the country. Fortunately for us some of his upanyasams have been recorded on audio tapes and or now released in the form of Compact Discs.
The Thiruppavai sung by Sri Andal Piratti is a poem of 30 sublime verses which contains the quintessence of the vedas. It is a poem of deep devotion addressed to Sri Lord krishna. Countless scholars continue to discourse on this poem every year in the month of Margazhi (Dec - Jan). Sri P B A Swami discoursed on Andal's Thiruppavai countless times in Madras and elsewhere. Apart from conveying the interpretation of our purvacharyas Sri Swami interpreted the verses in novel ways from his fertile imagination without infringing traditional views. The present CD is a record of his lecture in his citadel in chennai.
Sri Kanchi PBA Swami Trust, has been established with the sole purpose of re-publishing Sri Swami's written works and make the invaluable treasures available to the new generation of his admirers and devotees. Some volumes have already been re-published and more will follow. The release of his upanyasams in the form of CDs is a new venture and his certain to be welcomed with great pleasure.
The said CD will be released on 9th of December in the birth place of Thiruppavai Jeeyar Sri Ramanujar at Sri Embar Jeeyar Mutt between 3.30- 4.30 PM. His Holiness Sri Appan Parakala Ramanuja Embar Jeeyar Swami will release the CD. I hereby request all Asthikas to attend the release function.
It is a live discourse rendered by Sri PBA swami, containing 4 CD's of MP3 format, and will be available for sale. The cost of the CD is Rs. 400/-. Those who need the CD's can contact in the following address.
